about

Patchwork Quilt is a collection of ten songs that delve into memories of ambivalence, regret and resolve, sewn together with harmony and whimsy. Theses themes are woven into unusual melodies and uncanny three-part vocal harmonies against a rich indie-folk-pop backdrop.

Track Name: Spilled Milk
I Cry
I Cry

In most of my dreams, when you take my hand
You haven't aged a day
Laughing over spilt milk, we walk side by side
Til I wake up rememb'ring I was betrayed

Emma dear why can't I let you go?
My love for you is buried in the snow
Emma dear why can't I let you go?
My love for you is buried in the snow
Emma dear why can't I let you go?
My love for you is buried in the snow
Emma dear why can't I let you go?
My love for you is buried in the snow

I Cry

"If only I could see you,
I would make amends,"
Is what I used to say

I spied you at the museum
After all these years
And all I could do was run away

I Cry
Track Name: Cave Museum
We all gather by the mouth of this forgotten cave
Plunge into the boggy waters silent as the grave

Dim light, smeared sight

I wade through this museum
Still lifes stir to reflect the water's gleam

Deeper in we travel through there is no end in sight
Sensing that we'll not return but we press on in spite

Dim light, smeared sight

I wade through this museum
Still lifes stir to reflect the water's gleam
To reflect the water's gleam
To reflect the water's gleam
To reflect the water's gleam

I wade through this museum
Still lifes stir to reflect the water's gleam
To reflect the water's gleam
To reflect the water's gleam
To reflect the water's gleam
Track Name: Wind and Rain
I was misled by the whistle of your siren song
Think of you and I will bristle knowing I was wrong
My moonshine for you will ever wane though slivers remain
But my message is plain

I can't complain of wind and rain
Won't realign my weather vane
The water's mark won't leave a stain
I will remain, and try again

Vying for your validation was my sole intent
I, like waves against the rock, knew that I'd not relent

I read a book in one single word
There was only one note but a choir I heard
How was I deterred?

I can't complain of wind and rain
Won't realign my weather vane
The water's mark won't leave a stain
I will remain, and try again
Track Name: Patchwork Quilt
Maybe I'm a patchwork quilt
that blankets all these weathered dreams
These squares confine my doubt and guilt
I thread my heart along the seams
And maybe you're a wooden arrow
who never wavers in the wind
your steady course is straight and narrow
For your momentum is within

He's taken aim and flies ahead
A speck in the sky, headed West
I'm left a crumpled pile cloth and thread
I'll sit in stitches til he comes home to rest

Maybe I'm a patchwork quilt
that blankets all these weathered dreams
These squares confine my doubt and guilt
I thread my heart along the seams
And maybe you're a wooden arrow
who never wavers in the wind
your steady course is straight and narrow
For your momentum is within

I don’t understand why you had to leave
I'm waiting for you, counting the days
How could you do this to me?
God my mind's beginning to fray

Maybe you're too sharp and I'm too soft
Maybe we should call it off

And maybe I'm a patchwork quilt
that blankets all these weathered dreams
These squares confine my doubt and guilt
I thread my heart along the seams
And maybe you're a wooden arrow
who never wavers in the wind
your steady course is straight and narrow
For your momentum is within
Track Name: Jars on the Shelf
Jars on the shelf dusty and old
Sealed them myself, never turn cold
Keep them confined where I can see
Safe in my mind you’ll always be

Visions of you
Soak through the brine
Murky and few
I call them mine

You was so green, fresh off the vine
Barely eighteen and you were mine
Brazen and profane molding my desires
Can’t really explain how it expired

Visions of you
Soak through the brine
Murky and few
I call them mine

Jars on the shelf, dusty and old
Sealed them myself, never turn cold

Visions of you
Soak through the brine
Murky and few
I call them mine

Visions of you
Soak through the brine
Murky and few
I call them mine

Since we've been apart I've been losing my mind
Bereft of all reason but not yet resigned
I don't know what to do without you.

Since we've been apart I've been losing my mind
Bereft of all reason but not yet resigned
I don't know what to do without you.
Track Name: Arm's Length
I was so blindsided
Everything was slow
They have justified it
But I sure didn't know

I must hide the way I really feel about those things you did
For all your inspiration has become your desperation
‘Cause you yearn to feel the way you did before the skies were colored gray
And you had so much more to say instead of spending every passing day
Hoping that those thoughts would go away

Wore rose colored lenses
Missed the warning bells
Said I'd be there always, but
I don't know how to help

I must hide the way I really feel about those things you did
For all your inspiration has become your desperation
‘Cause you yearn to feel the way you did before the skies were colored gray
And you had so much more to say instead of spending every passing day
Hoping that those thoughts would go away

I am listening
As your eyes are glistening
I mouth all the words that you want me to say
And hold you closely at arms length away
We are so similar
And this feels familiar
It's troubling to look past your shining veneer
And see myself staring from your tarnished mirror

I must hide the way I really feel about those things you did
For all your inspiration has become your desperation
‘Cause you yearn to feel the way you did before the skies were colored gray
And you had so much more to say instead of spending every passing day
Hoping that those thoughts would go away

I must hide the way I really feel about those things you did
For all your inspiration has become your desperation
‘Cause you yearn to feel the way you did before the skies were colored gray
And you had so much more to say instead of spending every passing day
Hoping that those thoughts would go away
Track Name: Dead Sea Water
I thought I was dreaming when I heard the news
Left me staggered and confused
Sitting on my sofa fighting back the tears
Hadn't thought of you in years

When I think about you
Makes me cry
Feels like Dead Sea water
In my eyes

I was sleepwalking all through my routine
floating on from scene to scene
Recalling all the times when the boy with flaxen hair
Occasionally returned my stare

When I think about you
Makes me cry
Feels like Dead Sea water
In my eyes

We weren't very close but I won't forget your smile
Though it has been quite awhile
Once I had adored you so impish and carefree
You won't know what you mean to me

When I think about you
Makes me cry
Feels like Dead Sea water
In my eyes

When I think about you
Makes me cry
Feels like Dead Sea water
In my eyes

Wish that I could say goodbye
I just want to let you fly
Track Name: Through the Park
Wonder why you look so gloomy watching your feet drag
Through the park
Your numbness and your misery so tenderly avowed
In the park
I spied you from my park bench weighted by your threadbare bag
Through the park
Did someone break your heart did he see you as I do now?
In the park

Head downcast, eyes overcast, each breath more haggard than the last
Head downcast, eyes overcast, each breath more haggard than the last
Head downcast, eyes overcast, each breath more haggard than the last
Alas!

I recall a time when my love broke my heart
In a park
He confessed to me, I distressed with grief
Then possessed did flee into the trees
And sank to my knees
Track Name: All Mine
All the stars may shine bright
All the cloud may be white
But when you smile, oh how it feels so good
That I can hardly wait

To hold you
Enfold you
Never enough
Render your heart to me

All mine
You have to be

From that cloud number nine
Danger starts the sharp incline
And such sad regrets
Oh, as those starry skies
As they swiftly fall

Make no mistake
You shan’t escape
Tethered and tied
There’s nowhere to hide from me

All mine
You have to be

So don’t resist
We shall exist
Until the day, until the day I die

All mine
You have to be

All mine
You have to be
Track Name: Greasy Glass
Will I see each blade of grass shimm’ring in the wind
From behind this greasy glass pressed on nose and chin?
Fleeting shapes blur through the frame
I’m fogging up the window pane
Boxed within this murky place
I’m waiting for my saving grace.

Will I see each blade of grass shimm’ring in the wind
From behind this greasy glass pressed on nose and chin?
Fleeting shapes blur through the frame
I’m fogging up the window pane
Boxed within this murky place
I’m waiting for my saving grace.

I am free
I am free
I am free
I am free
